• They are due to a hypersecretion of the face's sebaceous glands under the effect of androgens. Sebum produced in too large quantity will also dilate pores which eventually become blocked and cause the appearance of blackheads or comedones.
• An aggravating factor, a proliferation in sebum of bacteria called Propionibacterium Acnes (is a relatively slow growing, typically aerotolerant anaerobic gram positive bacterium [rod] that is linked to the skin condition acne), causes inflammation and the appearance of red and sensitive spots.

Properties

• Keratoreducers: These are the AHA and BHA acids that will work as a "peeling" on the skin to rid the pores of sebum excess and, at the same time, avoid spots and blackheads.
• Cucurbita Pepo Extract helps reduce sebum excess.
• Soothing and Anti-irritating active ingredients: these are Zinc Gluconate, Alpha-Bisabolol and Avène Thermal Spring Water which will help reduce irritations.
